We are currently looking for a Welding Inspector for our pipeline project based in Bremen (Germany)
Purpose of the position: As Welding Inspector,you will respond to the Welding Coordinator and be part of the Welding Department.
How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:
- Codes, standards and specifications: Interpretation of the intent and ensuring the requirements of codes, standards and specifications are met.
- Welding procedures: Ensuring that a procedure is available, has been approved and is being employed in production.
- Witnessing of welder and procedure approval tests: Witnessing the preparation of test plates anddestructive tests and verifying compliance with appropriate standards and specifications.
- Welder approvals: Verifying that adequate and valid welder approvals are available, and that onlyapproved welders are used in production.
- Parent material: Verifying parent material against documentation and markings.
- Welding consumables identity: Verification of correctness of welding consumables (electrodes, filler wires, consumable inserts, gases, fluxes etc.)
- Pre-weld inspection: Verification that dimensions, fit-up and weld preparations are in accordance with specifications.
- Preheating: Verification that any required preheat is in accordance with the specified procedure.
- In-process welding inspection and surveillance: Surveillance during welding to verify compliance with specified procedures including any preheat, interpass temperature control and post heat requirements.
- Post-weld visual inspection: Visual inspection and dimensional check of completed weldment against specification requirements and drawings according to DVGW GW350 and DIN EN ISO 17637.
- Interface with employer Foremans, Client Inspectors and Third Party (TUV) during welding activity.
- Reports: data collecting during welding activity in field necessary to the preparation of inspection reports, statistics and project log book.
Education: Technical Diploma Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the role Languages: Fluent in English and German Certificates: - Certified DIN EN ISO 9712 Visual Test min level 2
- International certification in welding inspection (IWI, IWS,CSWIP)
Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of the main standards and norms applied to gas pipeline projects (DVGW GW 350, DIN EN 12732)
