Senior People Manager (Maternity Cover)

The Senior People Manager is the most senior People leader for Deltatre in North Macedonia. The role is responsible for delivering the People strategy in the country and ensuring a strong, compliant and high performing employee experience. This includes end-to-end People operations, leadership development and support, payroll oversight, culture and engagement, performance management and acting as the primary escalation point for all employee relations matters.

The Senior People Manager works closely with the global People leadership team, the Country Manager, the local back office team, legal partners and all local managers to ensure the Skopje hub remains aligned with company values and global standards while fully compliant with Macedonian labor legislation.

This is an office based role.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy and Leadership

  • Lead the People agenda in the region in alignment with global People leadership
  • Translate global People priorities into clear and consistent local execution
  • Coach and support managers to strengthen leadership capability and team performance
  • Provide guidance on organizational structure, talent planning and employee development

Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Participate in talent acquisition planning and selection with global Talent Acquisition
  • Ensure high quality onboarding and integration for all new hires
  • Support performance management processes including goal setting, feedback and development planning
  • Lead compensation reviews, promotions and disciplinary processes
  • Ensure smooth, compliant and professional offboarding

Employee Relations, Governance and Legal Coordination

  • Act as the first point of escalation for sensitive employee matters
  • Lead conflict resolution and employee relations cases in accordance with local legislation and company policy
  • Serve as the primary People contact for internal legal teams and external legal advisers
  • Coordinate with legal stakeholders on employment contracts, compliance topics, litigation risks and regulatory interpretations
  • Ensure full compliance with Macedonian labor law and internal People policies
  • Maintain accurate People documentation, contracts and reporting standards

Payroll Management

  • Oversee the monthly payroll process in partnership with the internal teams and external payroll provider
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, including out of hours payments, statutory obligations and contractual changes
  • Validate payroll inputs such as promotions, deductions, bonuses, overtime and leaves
  • Manage payroll audits and ensure full compliance with tax, social contributions and labor legislation
  • Address payroll related employee queries with accuracy and confidentiality

Culture, Engagement and Wellbeing

  • Maintain a supportive, inclusive and high performing work environment
  • Lead engagement initiatives and follow-up actions together with the global People team
  • Partner with managers on team health, morale and retention strategies
  • Promote diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at local level

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the Country Manager on regional initiatives and People aspects of operational decisions
  • Provide People insights and workforce data to business leaders
  • Lead and support employer branding activities, community partnerships and local visibility efforts
  • Work closely with the back office team to ensure strong collaboration and smooth operations

People Operations Excellence

  • Ensure accurate systems management and reliable reporting
  • Implement policy changes as required by updates in labor law, data protection rules or other relevant regulations
  • Oversee compliance checkpoints including contract accuracy, benefits administration and policy adherence

  • Minimum five years of senior People leadership experience in a multinational environment, ideally within the tech industry
  • Strong expertise in Macedonian labor law
  • Proven experience supporting managers and leadership teams at scale
  • Fluency in Macedonian and English
  • Strong presence and credibility with the ability to influence across all levels
  • Experience coaching managers and guiding teams through complex situations
  • Deep understanding of the full employee lifecycle, employee relations and legal requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading performance, compensation and payroll processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaboration
  • Skilled at managing sensitive matters with confidentiality, pragmatism and empathy
  • Strong judgment, proactive mindset and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Solid understanding of People operations, HR systems and process optimization
  • Ability to prioritize effectively across multiple responsibilities
